Description

History tells us that the first shot for Texas independence happened in Gonzales, Texas.  The symbol of resistance to tyranny in Texas was the iconic “Come and Take It” flag.

Defender Gear exclusively releases this new design giving honor to the patriots who defied the challenge to disarm in Gonzales and courageously stood against General Santa Anna’s thousands at the Alamo in 1836.  The artwork recognizes the valiant last stand by less than 200 defenders led by Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, and Lt. Colonel William B. Travis.  It was Travis’ last letter requesting reinforcements (that never came) where he vowed to fight to the last man defending the Alamo.  His last words were “Victory or Death” with a P.S. “The Lord is on our side.”

Sam Houston’s quote “Texas has yet to learn submission to any oppression, come from what source it may” symbolizes the independent spirit of Texas and the resistance to tyranny for all Americans, the “Liberty Road” goes through Gonzales and the Alamo!
